Posted by karen at August 11, 2003 12:50 AMyeah, i wouldn't go to the angelika unless i absolutely had to. besides, the sunshine is around the corner from me and walter reade is free. all the complaints the article cites are true. also, trying to watch a foreign, subtitled film at the angelika is terrible, you have to move your head up and down to read the subtitles AND watch the film itself.

Posted by: Josh at August 11, 2003 8:48 AMI feel a little nostaligia for the Angelika despite totally hating it, since it was one of the first places I visited when I came to New York to look at school. Although watching a quasi-art-porn (Wayne Wang's Map of the World) with a very sketchy guy in my row should have been an indication to something untoward about the theater.
